Shisha Ki Gaadi

Aim: To promote education among children by means of a mobile vehicle system.
Background: The ongoing pandemic has left the education system in a disruptive state. The most affected are the village schools which has been shut since the start with no hopes of starting anytime soon. The kids in these school unlike the urban school have no access to online study material and their education has come to a complete standstill. At Srijan, we constantly strive to make education accessible to the rural children. Hence, as a part of Saksham Bharat Initiative, Srijan has launched a new initiative to provide education on wheel.

What we do: “Srijan Ek Soch” is a non-governmental organization engaged in educational, social, financial and intellectual empowerment of the poor children and their parents living in small towns and villages of India. Srijan is a thought, a pledge to transform India and its people, especially those who are living on the edge, who are marginalized and deprived of the basic education, basic health facilities and last not the least who have no financial and social security to make a decent and dignified living.

We work to establish a sustainable governance model towards a holistic development of rural villages in the
field of education, health awareness and skills development. We cater to all age groups, gender, caste, religions
of India and try to make them self-sufficient and independent.

Our project’s aim is to provide digital and high-quality education in government schools of rural India to
increase continuity of education among underprivileged children and make the youths employable by
improving their vocational skills along with increased health awareness of the elderly.

With our project “Srijan Ka Sankalp”, the mission is to make a “Saksham”, “Swasth” and “Nipun” Bharat.
Currently, we have adopted 15 villages in one of the most backward regions of India including but not limited
to Bundelkhand (in UP), Horawala (in Uttrakhand) and Jamui (in Bihar). To date we have set up 15 digital
smart classes, set up 4+ health camps and conducted numerous skills development workshops for the benefit
of the folks in our adopted villages.

Purpose of Project:
The main objective of the “education on wheels” project under the Saksham Bharat Initiative is to reach out
to the rural children whose day to day schooling has been hampered due to the pandemic and provide them
education using our digital medium.

Scope of the Project:
– Provide access to rural children with access to education during the pandemic
– Furthermore, post lockdown is lifted, the mobile van will be continuing to impart online education to the
villages that are not equipped with smart classes
– Identify villages and engage with school to establish smart classes.
– Spread awareness about the ‘e-pathshala’ initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government.
– Support other Srijan skills and health initiatives under the Nipun & Swastha Bharat

Key Deliverables:
– Promote education among rural children and their parents
– Spread awareness regarding rural initiatives by the State and Central government as required
– Support other Srijan initiatives
– Identify new schools for establishing smart classes
