DON’T ASK CHILDREN TO TAKE TOOL; INSTEAD, SEND THEM TO SCHOOL.
on #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour
Say NO to Child Labour; Yes to School.
According to the available UNICEF report, an estimated 150 million children are involved in child labour worldwide, of which India alone accounts for 33 million child labours who are working in various sectors. According to the 2011 census report,3.9% of total children under the age of 14 were engaged in child labour. The figure is worrying, despite the ban on child labour in India. Poverty is the root cause which forces children to engage themselves in works which are incompatible to human dignity. At a time when these children should have been living in the comforts of their homes, poverty of their parents forces them to go out of their homes and earn a livelihood for their families. Engaging child labour in various works is literally a disgrace on our society and it needs to be stopped with the collective efforts of both the government and the people. On #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour let each of us must wake up to this grave reality and help children go to schools, instead of forcing them to take tools in their tiny hands.
