International Literacy Day

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” – Nelson Mandela

Literacy is a Bliss; Illetracy is a Bane – Choice is Your’s

Literacy is a key for socio-economic progress of any nation and India is no exception to it. Although much has been done to improve the literacy rate in India with both the state and the central government launching various schemes to encourage literacy, especially in the countryside, India is still home to the world’s largest population of illiterates with 287 million, amount to  37% of the total global illiterate populations.

As per 2011 provisional census figures, the Indian literacy rate stood at 74.04% with a wide gender disparity as against 80.9% literacy among the men, the literacy rate for women was 64.60%. This #InternationalLiteracyDay, let’s pledge our commitment towards integrating literacy and skill development for building a #NewIndia.
