Happy Doctor’s Day

to all distinguished doctors for their services to the suffering humanity.

Need to curb violence against Doctors

It is truly said that we can’t see God but on Earth, the Doctor is like a God who cures us and give us life to live in a better way.  The doctors are blessed with the magical powers to treat a life, to bring health into our lives and to be there with us when we have lost all the hopes. The relationship that we have with our doctors is key to our Good Health.
On the National Doctor’s Day today. Srijan salutes the entire medical profession and extends warm greetings to all our esteemed and distinguished doctors who play an important role in our lives by curing our illness and bringing health and happiness to us.
However, the Doctor’s Day also calls for an urgent attention towards growing cases of violence against doctors across the country which has reached an alarming proportion. The recent beating incident of some doctors in Kolkata is a gruesome reminder to the palpable threat the doctors are facing to their lives.
According to IMA’s report, over 75% of doctors across the country face at least some form of violence. The study shows that doctors face maximum violence while providing emergency services, with as many as 48.8% of such incidents reported from intensive care units or after the patients had undergone surgeries. It is high time, we woke up this growing menace against our doctors and must stand united to ensure their safety, even if it requires the enactment of a legislation so as to punish the guilty.
